Projectworks Product Update: October 2025

From more flexible project budgeting to enhanced reporting and integrations, here’s what’s new (and what’s coming soon) in the Projectworks platform - your all-in-one PSA software for project intelligence.

Upgraded Project Budgeting and Pricing

Released in mid-September, our new pricing and budget upgrades affect anyone who creates and manages projects, budgets, and time codes in our professional services automation software.

With this upgrade, you can:

• Save time when building a budget
• Update your budgets easily as project scope changes
• Get team members up-to-speed faster

All your existing projects have been automatically migrated. Learn more in our blog summary or check out the in-depth Help Article with interactive demos.

Since launch, we’ve also shipped incremental improvements like more helpful error messages and a new data picker - part of our ongoing commitment to improving your professional services automation experience.

Custom Reporting Enhancements

One of the most powerful features in Projectworks is our reporting engine - and we’ve made it even better.

New Managed Report: Resourced vs Actual Worked

Managed reports are pre-built reports available in Projectworks. We recently added a new managed report to track Resourced vs Actual worked. This is an upgrade to the Legacy report of the same name, but with a few enhancements;

• New filter to include/exclude Placeholder roles

• New filter to include/exclude Pencilled hours

• New columns to see value of resourced hours and the value of worked hours and the delta of the value

Available now under Reports > Reports (New) in your PSA tools dashboard.

Updates to Reporting views for Custom Reporting

We have also added new columns to the Reporting views available in the Custom Reporting engine:

• Resource Reporting view
  • Hours * Cost
  • Hours * Rate
• Budget Reporting view
  • Tracking Categories (Xero integrated customers)
• Expenses Reporting view
  • Billable Amount‍

Improved Native Integration

QuickBooks Online Invoice Enhancement

You can now sync billing contact emails from Projectworks to QuickBooks Online - eliminating double entry and improving invoicing accuracy. This small improvement streamlines your workflow between PSA and accounting platforms.

Upcoming: Refreshed Projectworks User Interface

The Projectworks user interface (UI) is changing in November 2025.

The changes you’ll see in Projectworks affect visual appearance only - you can be confident that no functionality or workflows will be affected. The refreshed design brings a more intuitive, modern experience aligned with Projectworks’ continued evolution as a leading professional services automation software platform.
