The future of UK infrastructure, in one room

Delivering Infrastructure 2050 brings the sector together to explore the innovations, investments and practical solutions that will shape Britain's infrastructure for decades to come. The agenda tackles the issues at the top of everyone’s minds including building resilience, restoring nature, improving productivity, and developing the workforce of tomorrow.

The event’s sponsors and speakers reflects the ambition of UK’s engineering sector. Attendees will hear a keynote from Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire, and a ministerial address from Chris McDonald MP, alongside senior leaders from National Highways, the Environment Agency, Ofwat, Ofgem, the National Wealth Fund and the Lower Thames Crossing programme. With 100+ engineering leaders expected to be there, it's a chance for members of the industry to connect on real issues and discuss critical questions on how exactly the UK will deliver its big infrastructure plans in the coming decades.

Standing with the firms doing the work.

This is our first time sponsoring ACE UK’s conference. We’re excited to be a part of the community that’s busy designing and delivering the UK’s future infrastructure.

These are exactly the types of consulting firms Projectworks is built to support - expert teams who need to focus on delivering important work and impact to the UK’s people and economy, not keeping up with admin. And that’s where Projectworks comes in. Our platform helps engineering firms reduce time spent on admin, speed up timesheets and invoicing, enable long-term resource planning, and ultimately protect firms' profitability.

Earlier this year, Projectworks became an affiliate partner of ACE for 2026, a partnership rooted in a shared belief that consultancies should be free to do their best work with fewer barriers in the way. Sponsoring this conference is part of our commitment to supporting the UK’s engineering community.

2050 is the goal. The pressure is here now.

The conference looks ahead to 2050, but the pressures facing engineering firms are very much present-day. Expectations have never been higher. Clients want projects delivered faster and for less, even as the cost of running a business climbs. Our own data shows the average signed project budget has fallen by 56% over the past two years. That squeeze lands hardest on the operations side of a firm, where teams are too often juggling delivery, resourcing, forecasting and financial performance across disconnected tools and manual spreadsheets.

For an engineering consultancy, every hour an expert spends wrestling with admin is an hour not spent on the technical work generating actual revenue. Multiply that across a team, and the impact on margin is significant. The firms that will thrive between now and 2050 are the ones that can take this operational friction out of the equation, gaining clear visibility into projects, people and profitability without needing a large internal team to maintain it.

That's where Projectworks comes in. Our mission is to help consulting firms spend less time on business admin and more time on the projects they're experts in. By bringing time tracking, resourcing, forecasting, invoicing and financial reporting together in one connected platform, we help firms deliver projects on time and on budget, and keep a confident handle on profitability as they grow.

Proof it works

MBB, an Australian infrastructure advisory firm, grew its headcount by 277% (from 45 people to over 170) with Projectworks scaling alongside them the entire way. Just as importantly, the platform handed their operations team back a week every month previously lost to pulling and sanitising project data from disconnected sources. As MBB put it, the real payoff is a team of 170+ experts spending more time delivering critical infrastructure and less time distracted by admin, exactly the shift every firm at Delivering Infrastructure 2050 is trying to make.

Come find us

If you're attending on June 30th, come and find us. We'd love to talk about the work you're doing, the pressures you're facing, and how the right operational foundation can free your people to focus on what they do best. And if you're part of the ACE network but not yet attending, there's still time to book your place.
